February 6: The Triangle Wine Experience's Hollywood & Vine Grand Gala

This year the auction lots are bigger and better than ever before!
Below is just a sample of what's on the auction block.
For a complete listing, visit www.twenc.org.

Lot #227 - STAR WARS

THE POTIOLO OF CALIFORNIA. Potiolo means “Little Fat” in Basque. Our impressive French Friend in Wine, Didier Loustau, has put this “FAT LOT” together and we promise you it is not Little! DDA (as he is known to all of us), ups the ante every year for the TWE and this year is no exception. Imagine what you could do with 33 – 3 Liters of Wine! Well, we can tell you, we wouldn't have the slightest problem figuring that out. What a party that would be!

Lot #236 - THE HURRICANE

Cam and Cody Ward have stepped up the plate, so to speak, and are bringing several surprise Hurricanes Teammates to a Wine Dinner at the home of Eliza Kraft Olander. The Chef, Colin Bedford of the Fearrington House, will be pairing courses from Eliza’s wine cellar and Cam and Cody will have the pick of the cellar! Do not confuse this with a free for all, but understand that Cam and Cody have been studying wine and will make very deliberate choices in their perusal of Eliza’s Wine Cellar. You and 5 of your friends will get to party with some exceptional athletes celebrating an exceptional cause. Lot #237-BORN TO BE A STAR

This is Country Music’s biggest night! You and your guest will have the opportunity to enjoy Country Music’s biggest night in November 2010 at the Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. You will fly into Nashville from Raleigh and stay at the beautiful Hutton Hotel, the home  way from home for many of music’s top entertainers. Be sure to wear your best cocktail attire as your tickets to the CMA will also include the after party that is usually held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. We know that there are lots of other “after-parties” and will make sure you get a special invite! Believe us, the stars will be out in force that night and you will be meeting many of them! Country Music stars are some of the most down-home, kind and outgoing folks you will ever meet.

Package includes:
Round trip for two on Southwest Airlines from Raleigh to Nashville
One room for one night at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville
Two tickets to the 2010 Country Music Awards (the date will be released later in the year by the CMA)
Two CMA Awards Show After Party Tickets

Lot #239-MARK OF ZORRO

This is one of Rioja’s finest Estates, with all the right stuff! You can bet this is a Rioja you can hold on to from a serious, artisanal producer. As a reference point, Chateau Latour comes to mind. Wield your paddle like a sword, put your mark on this lot and carry it off!

Lot #244-AUSTRALIAN DREAM

Absolutely the best of the best of what Australia can do with Shiraz, these are rare bottles seldom seen but much sought after! These wines will certainly age for decades, but if you happen to be in a hurry or are thirsty, go ahead and drink ‘em young! They’re great no matter how long you wait. These wines would definitely be considered “First growth” wines of Australia. You better raise your hand high for this Lot, it is sure to go quickly!

CLAREDON HILLS ASTRALIS 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 - 4 Bottles
